Catena Tupungato Chardonnay 2016
Family vintners for over 100 years, the Catenas are recognized for their pioneering role in high-altitude viticulture in Argentina. Over two decades ago, Nicolás Catena Zapata selected the Tupungato appellation with its pebble-covered soils and extreme cool nights, to plant the family's Chardonnay vineyards. Tupungato lies between 4000 and 5000ft in the foothills of the Andes. This Chardonnay is aromatic with expressive citrus fruit aromas and rich mineral notes.
- 100% Chardonnay
- High-altitude vineyards at 3,960 ft
- Sandy-loam alluvial soils
- Aged 9 month on the lees in French oak
Tasting Notes: Beautiful pear and citrus flavors with crisp fresh minerality. Aromas of fresh white peaches, pineapple, jasmine and magnolia. The mouthfeel is tangible and rich yet clean and fresh on the finish.
