Cuvelier Cuvee del Maule Earthquake Blend 2010
An exceptional terroir at foot of The Andes, the Cuvelier Los Andes S.A. vineyard was planted in 1999 with a density of 5500 plants per hectare. Today the vineyard stretches over 55 hectares (136 acres) with 10 hectares still to plant.
Varietal: 100% Malbec
From the Valle de Uco region in Mendoza, this wine is produced from vineyards 1,000 meters above sea level. Fermentation lasts 7 to 10 days at 26º C in stainless steel tanks. Once the vats are full, the grapes undergo a maceration before the alcoholic fermentation takes place. This process takes 30 to 40 days (100% malolactic fermentation). Ages for 11 months - 60% in french oak barrels.
