La Croix de Saint Jean Minervois Cuvee Michel 2015
The legacy of a tradition ... For three generations, the Fabre family has relentlessly danced the diversity of the terroirs of Minervois to extract all its quintessence. The grandfather, Pierre, succeeds in the first introduction of the quality fishing culture in the region. The father, Robert, in a difficult historical context, decided a bold reorientation of the vineyard, settling on the slopes. He was thus the precursor of quality grapes in the region.
Continuing this process, his son Michel, today produces world-renowned wine.
Cuvee Michel is a perfect expression of this ancient terroir. A blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah, the wine is vinified and aged in stainless steel for nearly two years.
Smoky, stony and spicy black fruit, ripe and meaty, are balanced with the telltale "garrigue" of native herbs. Clean, balanced and well-integrated, a wine to enjoy now with hearty fare such as cassolet.
