Que Sí Priorat 2017
Priorat is a small, dynamic wine region in Catalonia, north-eastern Spain, whose intense, full-bodied red wines have shot to fame in the past few decades. The relative isolation with respect to the influence of the sea and, at the same time, the protection offered by the sierra de Montsant from the cold northerly winds, give the area of the DOQ Priorat unique climatic conditions. Most of the Grenache and Carignan in this wine come from 20-40 year old vines making complex, balanced and full bodied wines with plenty ripe fruit and mineral flavors. You can taste “licorella” in them.
- 50% Garnatxa (Grenache) & 50% Samsó (Carignan)
- Soils: Licorella (black slate)
- Organic farming
- Fermentation in steel tanks, then aged three months in French oak barrels
Tasting Notes: A tight structure of light, firm tannins and crisp acidity frames juicy flavors of cherry and berry, accented by mountain herb and loamy earth details.
